View from the top...
Unfortunatley I wasn't allowed to go but they tell me it was awesome. Yep, they tackled Mt Cooroora this morning (oh,
by the way, we're back in Pomona). Apparently they could see the bus, and had they had the special
lens, they would have seen me quietly arranging their shoes into the bed. So this hill (sorry, mountain...bitter, who me?)
is the centre of an annual foot race. In the organiser's words, "The mountain provides a steep almost vertical climb. The return requires strength... and an immunity
to fear." The current record is around 23 minutes. Kree and Ado's first attempt 59 but no injuries!

Girls!
It's Wednesday and that means 'pipers' people.
Tonight's our last night in Pomona (leaving for a couple of days to get some more bus stuff done), and we've just been 'farewelled'
with band practice. Kree's getting all wistful again. Something about the mountain and community spirit. Seriously! Doesn't
she know it's all about the wildlife? And, of course, I'm just an interested observer...don't listen to what they tell you.

Bagpipes and mountains...
Happy to say no sandflies at the Pomona Showgrounds (or
people for that matter), although there is the local Scottish band which practises on Wednesday nights, as we discovered last
night. Kree says it was magical...a solo piper starting up just on dusk, Mt Cooroora as a backdrop, and one of the park residents doing
Tai Chi under the tall trees. Ado thinks she's mad but I think I'm in serious danger of not getting my sea change the longer
we stay here! Trailer's ready, bikes paid for, and they tell me we're hitting the road officially next Thursday.
I live in hope.

Most crap holiday ever...
We take off two weeks ago to get some repairs done in Gympie
then on to Rainbow Beach for some fishing, sun and surf. All I'm going to say is steering wheel wobble a kilometre from home,
two days dicking around in three towns in the opposite direction to Rainbow, only to find one tyre's not round (seriously,
it could only happen to us). Finally hit the beach where we're swarmed by sandflies (they bought
some clicky thing to relieve the itch but didn't realise it was like fingernails down a blackboard to dogs), I copped a fish
hook through the lip, and had a hydrobath from a member of the female Russian wrestling team (not really,
but she was rough and said "seen one staffy seen 'em all". Seriously, did she not see
me???
